MIP (Mikage International Preschool)

MIP provides an English speaking, reading, writing, and playing environment especially for 1.5 to 6 year-old children who live in the Kobe - Osaka (Kansai) area of Japan. The activities of MIP are directed by Mrs. Burke, BA Wayland Baptist University, Plainview, Texas. The curriculum is based on a knowledge of God, the Creator of the universe, and Christian principles of daily living.

The program provides for the physical, mental, spiritual, and social development of each child as he/she learns basic communication skills, sings, dances, listens to stories, draws, colors, solves puzzles, recognizes number relationships, and plays so that he/ she will be ready for elementary school.

The Policy of MIP

MIP was founded to help children grow spiritually, mentally, physically, socially and emotionally. Spiritual growth is based on the truth of God, the foundation of life. Mental growth is achieved through games, songs, stories, and other activities. Physical growth is achieved through active games, play in the garden and parks to develop physical dexterity.

Social development is achieved through interaction with each teacher and other students in study and play activities. Emotional growth is achieved through self-discovery and control as students interact with others. Teachers are employed to administer the goals of the school in the above mentioned areas. Each teacher is encouraged to be keenly aware how students grow in each area.
